These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the JuniorForge platform and all associated services, operated by JuniorForge Ltd ("JuniorForge", "we", "us", or "our"), registered in England and Wales with operations also registered in Nigeria. By accessing our platform — whether as a talent applicant, an active Tier 1 developer, or a registered startup — you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding.
1. Definitions
- "Platform" — The JuniorForge website, application, assessment system, matching engine, external job board, social feed, and all associated services.
- "Talent" or "Developer" — Any individual who applies to JuniorForge, completes an assessment, or holds an active account on the platform.
- "Startup" or "Client" — Any company, founder, or hiring contact that registers on the platform to search for and engage with talent.
- "Assessment" — JuniorForge's technical evaluation — comprising multiple-choice, written, and auto-graded coding questions evaluated in a sandboxed environment — used to determine a talent's tier placement.
- "Behavioural Assessment" — A secondary evaluation completed by Tier 1 talent to assess work style, communication, decision-making, and cultural fit.
- "Tier" — A classification assigned to talent based on their technical assessment score: Tier 1 (75%+), Tier 2 (50–74%), or Tier 3 (below 50%).
- "Verify Page" — A publicly accessible credential profile page at juniorforge.com/verify/[id] that displays a Tier 1 talent's verified assessment scores, behavioural profile summary, and verified skills to any recruiter or third party who accesses it.
- "Pre-Screened Badge" — A structured text block generated by JuniorForge containing a talent's verified score, top skills, behavioural tags, and a link to their Verify Page, intended for use in external job applications.
- "AI-Generated CV" — A role-tailored curriculum vitae generated by JuniorForge's AI using the talent's profile data and a specific external job description. Available to Tier 1 talent only.
- "External Job Board" — A curated feed of technology roles aggregated from third-party sources (including Adzuna, Remotive, RemoteOK, and Arbeitnow) and surfaced within the JuniorForge platform.
- "Bootcamp Partner" — A verified training organisation that has entered into a formal partnership agreement with JuniorForge to refer graduates through the platform.
- "Hiring Credit" — A unit of currency on the platform that Startups use to submit a formal hiring request to a Talent.
- "Match" — A curated recommendation of one or more Talent profiles to a Startup, generated by our AI matching engine.
- "Social Feed" — The in-platform content feed where Talent and the JuniorForge platform account can publish posts, comments, and reactions.
2. Eligibility
To use JuniorForge, you must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter binding agreements on behalf of yourself or the company you represent. By registering or submitting any information, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.
JuniorForge reserves the right to reject or terminate any account where we have reasonable grounds to believe that the information provided is false, inaccurate, or misleading.
3. The Assessment Process and Tier System
All talent applicants undergo a technical assessment administered by JuniorForge. The assessment includes multiple-choice questions, written responses, and coding questions graded automatically within a secure sandboxed environment. Your score determines your tier classification, which governs your access to and progression on the platform.
Tier 1 — Score 75% and above
You are granted full access to the JuniorForge talent platform. You are required to complete your profile and take our behavioural assessment before your profile becomes visible to startups. Tier 1 talent are actively matched to startup opportunities and gain access to the external job board, AI-generated CV tools, and a publicly accessible Verify Page that displays your credentials to any recruiter worldwide.
Tier 2 — Score 50%–74%
Your assessment identifies specific skill gaps. You will be offered access to a targeted development course designed to address those gaps, available for purchase on the platform. Completion of the course does not guarantee promotion to Tier 1. You must retake the technical assessment after completing the course; if you score 75% or above on the retake, you will be promoted to Tier 1. JuniorForge does not guarantee any specific outcome from course completion.
Tier 3 — Score below 50%
Your account and all your data are retained — you are not removed from the platform. You will receive an email identifying the skill gaps in your assessment and encouraging you to develop those areas. Your profile will not be visible to startups during this period, but you retain full access to the platform, the community, the social feed, and your dashboard. You will be eligible to retake the assessment after a 30-day cooldown period, at which point you will be notified by email.
JuniorForge's tier thresholds and scoring methodology may be updated from time to time to maintain quality standards. Assessment results are final. Requests for re-scoring or manual review of automated assessments are not accepted.
4. Bootcamp Partner Programme
JuniorForge maintains formal partnerships with selected coding bootcamps and training organisations. Talents referred through a Bootcamp Partner may receive an expedited vetting pathway and, where applicable, a partner badge on their platform profile and Verify Page.
By being referred through a Bootcamp Partner, you acknowledge that:
- Your participation on the platform was facilitated by the partner organisation
- JuniorForge may notify the referring Bootcamp Partner when you receive or accept a hiring offer through the platform, for the purpose of placement outcome tracking
- The Bootcamp Partner badge displayed on your profile and Verify Page identifies your entry pathway and is subject to JuniorForge's continued partnership with that organisation
- The standard tier system and platform obligations continue to apply regardless of your entry pathway
5. Talent — Platform Access and Responsibilities
By accessing the platform as Tier 1 Talent, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete profile information at all times
- Complete the behavioural assessment honestly and without assistance
- Respond to startup communications in a timely and professional manner
- Attend any interviews or calls you have confirmed with a startup
- Notify JuniorForge and relevant startups promptly if your availability or circumstances change
- Not create multiple accounts or circumvent a Tier 3 restriction by using a different email address
- Not share your account credentials with any other person
- Use the Pre-Screened Badge only in connection with genuine job applications, and not in a misleading or misrepresentative context
- Ensure that your profile information remains accurate so that your Verify Page presents a truthful representation of your credentials to recruiters
JuniorForge tracks platform behaviour — including response rates, interview attendance, and follow-through — to inform match quality and acceptance predictions. Repeated non-responsiveness, ghosting behaviour, or low interview show-up rates will negatively affect your match ranking and visibility on the platform.
6. Public Verify Page
All Tier 1 talent are assigned a publicly accessible Verify Page at juniorforge.com/verify/[your-id]. This page displays your verified assessment score, percentile ranking, behavioural profile summary, and verified skills. It is accessible to any person — including recruiters not registered on JuniorForge — who has the link. By maintaining an active Tier 1 account, you consent to your credential data being publicly accessible in this format.
You may adjust the visibility of specific profile elements — including your photo, location, and last active status — using the privacy controls available in your account settings. However, your core credential data (assessment score, percentile, and verified skills) will remain publicly accessible for the purpose of recruiter verification.
If you delete your account, your Verify Page is removed immediately. JuniorForge is not responsible for any cached or third-party reproductions of your Verify Page content that may persist after deletion.
7. External Job Board and AI-Generated CVs
JuniorForge aggregates job listings from third-party sources including Adzuna, Remotive, RemoteOK, and Arbeitnow. These listings are provided for convenience and are subject to the terms and accuracy of the originating platforms. JuniorForge applies quality filters — including recency (within 7 days of posting), description completeness, and role relevance — before displaying listings, but does not independently verify the accuracy, availability, or legitimacy of any external job posting.
Job application: When you apply to an external job through JuniorForge, you are directed to the employer's own application process. The hiring decision rests entirely with the external employer. JuniorForge is not a party to any employment agreement arising from an external application.
AI-Generated CVs: Tier 1 talent may request an AI-generated CV tailored to a specific external job listing. This CV is generated using your profile data and the job description. By using this feature you acknowledge that:
- The generated CV is a starting point and should be reviewed for accuracy before submission
- JuniorForge does not guarantee that any CV will result in an interview or employment outcome
- CV generation is subject to a relevance check — if your skills do not sufficiently match the role, CV generation may be declined with an explanation
- You must not submit a JuniorForge-generated CV claiming qualifications or experience you do not possess
Pre-Screened Badge: When applying to an external job, you may copy a Pre-Screened Badge containing your verified credentials and Verify Page link for inclusion in your application. Use of this badge is a representation that your JuniorForge credentials are accurate and current. Misrepresenting your credentials through the badge is a breach of these Terms.
8. Social Feed
JuniorForge provides an in-platform social feed where Tier 1 talent and the JuniorForge platform account may publish posts, comments, and reactions. By contributing to the social feed, you agree that:
- Your posts and comments are visible to other registered platform users
- You will not post content that is unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful
- You will not impersonate any person or organisation, including other JuniorForge users or startups
- You will not use the social feed to solicit employment directly from startups, to share referral or affiliate links, or to advertise third-party services
- You grant JuniorForge a non-exclusive licence to display your content on the platform for as long as it is published
- JuniorForge may remove any content that violates these Terms without notice
JuniorForge publishes its own content through a platform account on the social feed. This content represents JuniorForge's views and announcements and is clearly identifiable as platform-originated.
9. Startup — Registration and Account Responsibilities
Startups must register and complete their company profile, including details about their team size, funding stage, tech stack, and cultural environment. This information is used by our matching engine to generate relevant talent recommendations and is not shared publicly.
By registering as a Startup, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information about your company and hiring needs
- Use talent profile data and assessment information only for the purpose of evaluating candidates for legitimate employment opportunities
- Not share, export, or distribute talent profile data to third parties outside your internal hiring process
- Comply with all applicable employment, equality, and anti-discrimination laws in the jurisdictions where you operate
- Engage with matched talent in a professional and timely manner
- Not use the platform to solicit or approach talent for purposes unrelated to the hiring process
- Not scrape or systematically access the Verify Page or Recruiter Lookup API beyond the scope of evaluating specific candidates
10. Hiring Requests and Escrow
Sending a hiring request to a talent is free. There is no upfront fee or per-request charge. Once a startup submits a request, the talent reviews it and may accept or decline. If the talent accepts, the request moves to a payment stage where the startup is required to fund a JuniorForge-held escrow before the engagement becomes active.
Escrow amounts:
- Full-time or part-time roles: The startup deposits the first month's agreed salary into escrow. A 15% platform fee applies to the engagement value.
- Project gigs: The startup deposits the full agreed project amount into escrow at the start. A 20% platform fee applies.
What escrow funding unlocks:
- Full contact details and direct messaging between startup and talent
- The request moves to "active" status and the engagement formally begins
Before escrow is funded:
- The talent's profile is partially anonymised — their first name and initial only, with no email, phone, social links, or portfolio URLs visible
- Their assessment scores, skills, and work experience descriptions remain visible
Escrow funds are held by JuniorForge and released to the talent upon agreed milestones or at the close of the engagement. Dispute resolution processes apply where either party contests a release. Platform fees are non-refundable once an engagement is active.
11. Tier 2 Course Access
Tier 2 talent may purchase access to development courses offered through the JuniorForge platform. By purchasing a course, you acknowledge that:
- Course access is personal and non-transferable
- Completing the course does not guarantee promotion to Tier 1 — you must retake the assessment and score 75% or above
- Course purchases are final. Refunds are not available once course content has been accessed, except where required by applicable consumer protection law
- JuniorForge does not guarantee specific skill improvement outcomes from any course
- Certain platform features — including the multi-photo gallery — require completion of the development course for talents who are not Tier 1 or Bootcamp Partner-referred
12. Account Deletion
Both Talent and Startups may delete their accounts directly from their dashboards at any time. You do not need to contact us to delete your account.
What happens when you delete your account:
- Your profile is immediately removed from the platform and will no longer appear in any matches or search results
- Your Verify Page is removed immediately and will return a not-found response
- Any pending hiring requests associated with your account will be cancelled and relevant parties notified
- Your social feed posts will be removed within 30 days
- Your personal data will be deleted within 30 days, subject to any legal retention obligations (see our Privacy Policy)
- Startups: any escrow funds held for active engagements will be processed according to the dispute and release terms in effect at the time of deletion — contact support before deleting if you have active engagements
- Talent: if you are in a Tier 3 retake cooldown period at the time of deletion and you reapply after, the cooldown period will have reset
Account deletion is permanent. You will need to reapply from the beginning, including completing a new assessment, if you wish to return to the platform.
13. AI and Matching Engine
JuniorForge uses AI-powered tools, including the Anthropic Claude API, across several platform functions:
- Generating and evaluating technical and behavioural assessments
- Powering our four-factor composite matching engine (technical, behavioural, cultural, and bidirectional fit)
- Generating role-tailored CVs for external job applications
- Producing AI analysis summaries displayed on Verify Pages
All AI outputs — including match scores, CV drafts, and assessment summaries — are recommendations or tools only. JuniorForge does not guarantee any specific hiring outcome. Final hiring decisions rest entirely with the Startup or external employer.
Assessment results generated by our AI system are treated as final. JuniorForge does not offer manual re-scoring of assessments.
14. Prohibited Conduct
You may not use the JuniorForge platform to:
- Submit false, misleading, or impersonated information at any stage
- Circumvent a Tier 3 restriction or assessment limit using a new email address or identity
- Scrape, crawl, copy, or harvest any talent profiles, assessment data, Verify Page content, or platform content
- Reverse-engineer, replicate, or attempt to reproduce our matching algorithm or assessment methodology
- Use talent data obtained through the platform or Verify Pages for any purpose other than legitimate employment consideration
- Misrepresent your credentials, assessment score, or tier when using the Pre-Screened Badge in external applications
- Submit or use an AI-generated CV that contains information you know to be false or that you have materially altered to misrepresent your qualifications
- Engage in harassment, discrimination, or any unlawful conduct toward other platform users
- Share your account credentials or allow others to access the platform under your account
- Post content on the social feed that is unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, or designed to spam other users
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban, at JuniorForge's sole discretion, without refund of any credits or fees paid.
15. Intellectual Property
All platform content, design, assessment questions, scoring methodology, matching algorithms, trademarks, and branding are the property of JuniorForge Ltd or its licensors, and are protected by applicable intellectual property law.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform for its intended purpose only. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any JuniorForge content — including Verify Page content, badge templates, or CV formats — without our prior written consent.
By submitting content to the platform — including profile information, assessment responses, uploaded files, and social feed posts — you grant JuniorForge a licence to use that content for the purpose of delivering the platform's services, including matching, assessment analysis, public verification, and platform communications.
16. Third-Party Services and External Job Sources
JuniorForge integrates with a number of third-party services and data sources including Adzuna, Remotive, RemoteOK, Arbeitnow (job aggregation), Stripe and Paystack (payments), Cloudinary (media), and Anthropic (AI). Your use of JuniorForge does not constitute a direct relationship with these providers, and JuniorForge is not responsible for the conduct, accuracy, or availability of third-party services.
External job listings are sourced from third-party platforms and are displayed as-is. JuniorForge applies relevance and recency filters but does not independently verify the content, legitimacy, or ongoing availability of any external job posting. Always verify a role directly with the employer before proceeding.
17. Disclaimer of Warranties
JuniorForge provides the platform and all services on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties — express or implied — regarding the platform's accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
We do not warrant that any assessment result accurately predicts real-world job performance, that any match will result in a successful employment outcome, that any external job listing is accurate or available, or that any AI-generated CV will result in an interview or offer.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, JuniorForge, its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the platform, including but not limited to: loss of profits, data loss, failed hires, unsuccessful external applications, or employment-related claims arising from decisions made using the platform.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount paid by you to JuniorForge in the twelve months prior to the claim, or £100 if no fees have been paid.
19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.
For users based in Nigeria, applicable mandatory provisions of Nigerian law apply where required.
20. Changes to These Terms
JuniorForge may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and by posting a notice on the platform. Your continued use of the platform after such notice constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
